My sweet, firstborn, baby girl has grown up so fast and is quickly becoming a beautiful, smart, and amazing big girl (note that I refuse to say pre-teen). I cannot believe how quickly these last 10 years has gone by! Since Kaylie is the Texas Rangers #1 fan, Ryan came up with the idea of taking her and her friends (and their parents) to the Rangers Ballpark for a tour. I'm not sure who was more excited, the parents or the kids! While on the tour we were able to view the pressbox, a suite, the field, the batting cages, the bullpen and other great things. The dugout is in the process of being remodeled so we weren't able to see that. Afterwards we were able to eat cake, open presents, and just relax while enjoying the view of this amazing ballpark. The party was short, relaxing, and fun. Everything that you could ever ask for in a birthday party and the birthday girl was so happy. I don't think the smile ever left Kaylie's face the whole time we were there. After the party, I took her into downtown for a couple of birthday pictures. Not much since she's not a big fan of getting her picture taken but I got a couple of good ones.
We love you so much Kaylie Baylie. We are so proud of who you are and how much you love everyone and every thing. After waiting over 44 hours for you to come into this world, I had no idea how much life and joy you would to bring into our family. You turning 10 doesn't bring tears to my eyes because I am sad, I cry tears because of what amazing person you are and how, somehow, your dad and I have helped you become who you are today. I cry tears because you show me every single day how to love unselfishly, to always strive to be a better person, and to smile just because. I cry tears because I love what an individual you are. With your writings, and poems, I see a girl who tries to hide her talents but they shine through any way. I cry because I cannot wait to see what an amazing, beautiful, grown woman you will be in the next 10 years. But for now my sweet Kaylie, be you and enjoy everything that life has in store for you. I have, no doubt, that it will surpass all of your (and my) expectations.
