Little Reese, who has never had any interest in sports what-so-ever, told us a few months ago that she wanted to start playing softball. We were quite shocked but excited at the same time. That girl has an arm and bats really well too but she just never wanted to play on a team. We found out that for her age she would play T-Ball through the RGSA which is the same league that Kaylie goes through for softball. She had two practices before her first game and seemed to be enjoying it. Well the first game didn't go as planned. A cold front came through and it was really cold the evening of her game. She looked so cute out there in her #9 jersey and skort but we knew those girls had to be so cold! Reese practiced with her team and then sat in the dugout until it was time to go out on the field. Once she got out in the outfield and we started taking pictures, we noticed that she was crying and we had no idea why. When they came back in the dugout the coach brought her over to me and she was crying and shivering. I felt horrible for her. I took her back into the dugout and wrapped her in a whole bunch of blankets to warm her up a bit so she could still bat when it was her time. They called her name, she got out there, hit the ball, ran the bases and then ran back me to get warmed up. Thankfully by that time the game was over and we headed back to the car where she fell asleep before we got a few miles down the road. I was so proud of her that she stuck it out and finished the game. Hopefully her next game will be a better experience.
