End of school awards

Last Friday Ryan and I spent most of the morning up at Kaylie and Reese's school to attend their end of the year award ceremonies.  At Kaylie's ceremony she received the awards for A honor role and the Citizenship award.  She had such a great year this year and has grown so much both academically and socially.  She loved her teacher and all of  the new friends she made this year. I have to mention that all of her grades were 98 or above the entire year! Wow!

Reese's class had not only an awards ceremony, but also a special brunch before the awards for the parents.  There we were able to see all of her projects from the beginning to the end of the school year.  She wrote a book, wrote letters, did some great art projects and etc.  It's amazing to see how much she has grown this year.  Her awards included the A honor role, Citizenship award, and the Hard Work Habits awards.  For a girl who complained almost every morning about having to go to school she sure seemed to have a lot of fun!

Girls, you both had such a great year and now you are on to 2nd and 4th grade.  You are growing up WAY too fast!!  We are so very proud of all of your hard work this year! We love you!

I can't get this to turn horizonal.  This was the dedication in her book.  It says "I would like to dedicate my story to my dad.  Thank you dad for helping me become a good writer."  Yes, I think there were tears in Ryan's eyes when he read that!

Last softball games of the season

This was a really great softball/t-ball season for the girls.  This was Kaylie's 2nd season playing softball and it is truly amazing to see how far she has come.  Her RBI's, hits and catches increased this season and she even got moved from the outfield to 3rd base at her last game which I think she was thankful for. 
Reese did really well in her 1st season of T-ball.  Next season, if she still wants to play, she will be moved up to actual softball.  This girl can really run and has a great arm but unfortunately she was kept in the outfield most of the season and got very little action.  She did a great job hitting the ball from the T so hopefully she will enjoy softball next season when she will be pitched to. 

Great season girls.  We are so very proud of you both!

Field Day!

After 3 years of unbelievable heat during the all day field day, the smart planners of this years Field Day limited it to half day for each grade level.  I think we were all very grateful.  Reese class went out in the morning from 8-11:30 and then Kaylie's class was from 11:45 to 2:45.  Even though it was still extremely hot, I think all of the kids had a good time.  Even Mason was able to jump in bounce thing when it was empty! 

Mother's Day

I had a really wonderful Mother's Day this year.  We started off with Church and then lunch with the family. Since my NYC trip was only 2 weeks away, my friend Jess (who is going with me) and I spent the rest of the day shopping for our trip!  Hours and hours relaxing and shopping while Ryan took care of the kids was a day well spent.  That evening we met up at Outback for dinner and boy, it was yummy! Thank you making my day so special.  I love, love, LOVE being a MOM!

Lots of catching up to do!

These pictures are from a wonderful date night Ryan and I had a couple of weeks ago.  We started off with a yummy dinner with our friends Jerry and Elizabeth at Saltgrass.  Afterwards, we headed off to the batting cages where I found out that 1. I wore the wrong outfit and 2. I have bad form :).  Once our tokens were out we decided to go relax with some drinks and conversation at the Harbor.  We had such a wonderful, relaxing evening.  I couldn't have asked for anything more. 

It was a happy, happy day in the Everhart household!

After almost a year,  Reese's 1st tooth finally, FINALLY, fell out!!  It's been loose for so long and while brushing her teeth a couple of months ago I noticed her permanent tooth was already behind her baby one.  I kept trying to push her to wiggle, wiggle but she adamantly refused.  It finally took calling the dentist and telling her that "Dr Sandy wants you to wiggle that tooth so much because she really doesn't want to pull it but will if she has too".  It only took 2 days after that and the tooth was out.  Unfortunately, she swallowed it which seems to be a pattern in this house because Kaylie swallowed her first one as well.  Anyway, we are very thankful that the 1st one is out but now we have to push her to wiggle the tooth beside it because I noticed that permanent tooth is in as well.  She will be losing baby teeth until she is 20 at this rate!
